SANGUEM For the past 15 years, during the monsoons, gutter water has been entering the Anganwadi in Solye village, Sattari.
The entire area, including the corridor of Anganwadi is filled with dirty water, leading to unhygienic condition, affecting mainly children who have been reporting sick periodically.
Solye villagers are up in arms over the issue and want an immediate solution.
They claim to have written several letters to the Honda Panchayat at different times but the panchayat has failed to take any action so far.
What is unacceptable to the villagers is that during the past 15 years not a single sarpanch or panch member has visited the Anganwadi, a villager Pramod Solyekar opines.
Ujwala Solyekar seemed disappointed that despite informing the new panchayat body regarding the problem of overflowing gutters they have also not done anything in this regard.
Around 14 children use the Anganwadi facilities in Solye village that has 45 houses and 550 villagers.
Since our work has not been done for so many years, we will now approach the Health Minister and ask him to visit in our village to see for himself what problems our children face in the Anganwadi, they emphasised.
