Whenever an ambulance passes through the road, however busy the roads may be, best arrangements need to be made to make way for the ambulance. In doing so, we all, will do our level best in saving a life by allowing the ambulance to hurry to the hospital.
Last week, on one of the occasions, I was extremely disturbed on seeing the care-a-damn attitude of the people who were using the Ribandar ferry service to reach to Chorao. An ambulance 108 was in this ferry and no sooner the ferry reached the Chorao ferry wharf, those in the ferry instead of moving aside to make way for the ambulance to move out of the ferry, were all busy in moving their vehicles out from the ferry.
The ambulance was continuously blowing its siren in an attempt to make way, out of the ferry service. Such a lackadaisical approach shows the care-a-damn attitude of the public. What if their own loved one was in the Ambulance or if an ambulance was madly rushing to save the life of their family member? Would they have behaved in a similar manner?
It was only when some youth who were present in the ferry began shouting at those concerned to make way for the ambulance, did they make way. The concerned authorities in any of the ferry services should coordinate with the public to make smooth way for the ambulance services. In doing so, we all, will do our level best to save innocent lives. Agreed that we all need to reach home on time, but isn’t saving someone’s life more important than that? We all need to ponder on this.
