Vasco City badly needs more greenery

The hot sun will be hitting hard during the summer season. The heat will be unbearable. This is where the importance of trees and plants is felt. However without much greenery around the Port Town of Vasco, the city represents an arid zone with the heat of the sun being reflected by the tarred roads. Vasco is crying for more greenery.
The Ashoka trees along the Swatantra Path which were cut down a couple of years back have not been replaced. No plants have been planted along the road-divider near the vegetable market as seen in the photo. The road-divider has been bereft of greenery for several years and presents a sore sight. The city fathers should realize the importance of increasing the green cover as the trees and plants are the lungs of the city where the rise in the number of vehicles has increased the air pollution to a great extent. Trees also provide shade and helps lower down the surrounding temperature. One can only hope and that the civic body takes necessary steps to plant new Ashoka trees along the Swatantra Path and plant new saplings along the road-divider which are bereft of greenery.
