PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant held a review meeting with the officials of the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services (F&Es) on Thursday where the requirements of the department and other infrastructural projects were discussed.
The meeting was held at the conference hall, Secretariat, Porvorim. At this meeting, the Chief Minister announced that Cuncolim will get a full-fledged fire station. Furthermore, the Chief Minister instructed the authorities to initiate steps to fill up the vacant post in the department as early as possible.

Principal Secretary (Finance) Puneet Kumar Goel and Ashok Menon, Director F&Es were present along with other officials from the Finance Department. Matters related to expansion of the Directorate and provisions for modern equipment were also discussed.
The fact that the Directorate of F&Es has been providing NOCs online was also highlighted. Against that backdrop, the Chief Minister directed the authorities to explore the possibility of making available all other facilities of the Directorate online for the benefit of the general public.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress about departmental activities and regarding the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) sponsored ‘Aapda Mitra’ Scheme.
