CM urged to convene meet to review security arrangements

MARGAO: Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to convene a meeting of stakeholders including sarpanchas to review security arrangements in Goa in view of the Easter blast at Sri Lanka.
Stating that Goa has similar geographical and cultural attributes with Sri Lanka, he said there was an urgent need to review the security arrangements in Goa which is a tourist destination and hence could be a likely target of terrorists.
Aleixo urged the chief minister to all for an immediate meeting with those involved in the tourism trade such as hoteliers, shack and restaurant owners, taxi operators along with officials of ASI, Archives and Archaeology, Fire Services, Health Services, representatives of all religious establishments, sarpanchas and municipal bodies along with the three MPs and MLAs to review the security arrangements.
He urged the chief minister to direct the police to monitor all vehicles plying through the State through check posts or nakabandis at various places and demanded that CCTV cameras be installed at prime locations.
