PANJIM: The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Friday evening caught a peon of Mapusa Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) attached to Court D red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 200 to settle the fine of violation of MV Act and later arrested him.
According to an ACB officer, based on the complaint a FIR was lodged against peon Tilu Aroskar, who was caught accepting the bribe.
As per the complaint, the complainant had already given the portion of bribe amount of Rs 2,500 earlier and the peon demanded Rs 200 more.
The accused was charged with relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
