PORVORIM: North Goa District and Sessions Court, Panaji denied pre-arrest bail to Salvador do Mundo panch Krishnakant Chodankar in a bribery case.
Chodankar was accused of demanding bribe of Rs 18 lakh and a formal complaint was filed against him at the Porvorim police station last month.

It may be recalled that Sunil Desai, representative of Noel Felix Ataid who is landowner of survey no. 155/5, had filed a complaint against Chodankar for allegedly demanding a bribe to clear a file for erecting a structure.
During the hearing, the police had presented the recorded conversations between the involved parties in the court and claimed that Chodankar should be remanded to police custody for further interrogation.
After hearing both the parties the Principal District & Sessions Judge, North Goa Sherin G Paul rejected the application for pre-arrest bail.
