Dalai Lama to address GIM students on institute’s 25th anniversary

PANJIM: The Dalai Lama will visit Goa on August 8 to address students of Goa Institute of Management (GIM), which is celebrating 25 years of imparting knowledge of the corporate sector. 
The year-long celebration will kick off with the key note address by the Dalai Lama on the topic ‘Today’s Relevance of India’s Ancient Knowledge’. The event will take place at college campus at Sanquelim. 
“The Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is also conducting a six-month intensive programme for the faculty and members on the Board of Governors of GIM which will commence this month. The programme is being conducted by the Venerable Tenzin Priyadarshi, Director of the Ethics Initiative and Javier Prieto, COO at The Centre, at GIM’s campus in Sanquelim,” a statement reads.  
The Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at MIT focuses on development of interdisciplinary research and programs in varied fields of knowledge, from science and technology to education and international relations.
“The programs emphasize responsibility and examine meaningfulness and moral purpose between individuals, organizations, and societies. The Center was founded to honour the vision of the 14th Dalai Lama and his call for a holistic education that includes the development of human and global ethics,” it said.
