MAPUSA: Demolition of illegal part of ‘Curlies’ continued for the third consecutive day.
The authorities continued the demolition of the illegal part of the controversial Curlies shack and allied structures at Anjuna for the third consecutive day.
A major portion of the illegal structure was demolished on Sunday and the demolition drive is likely to continue on Monday.
A major part of the stage and the nightclub located on the first floor of the shack were demolished on Saturday.
The demolition began on Friday morning after the National Green Tribunal (NGT) gave a green signal for razing the structure. However, the Supreme Court granted a stay to the main structure in one survey number 42/10 within hours as demolition began.
The demolition is being carried out manually by the labourers as earthmoving machinery cannot reach the site on account of no proper access.
