Speaking to Herald, Old Goa Police Inspector Krishna Sinari informed that police received a call at about 1 pm on Monday and on rushing to the site, found the bodies of Ashok Naik (46), his wife Nutan (40) and their daughter Deepashree (12), hanging from three different fans inside the house.
The incident came to light when villagers broke open the door of the house, after there was no response from inside.
Upon inquiries, it was further revealed that the 18-year old son of Ashok and Nutan had passed away 20 days back of illness, due to which the family members were in depression.
Sinari further said the neighbours informed that the husband-wife duo was often found talking about ending their lives as they could not live without their son.
The police have also recovered a suicide note which states that the family had no purpose to live ever since they had lost their son.
“The bodies were sent to GMC hospital and the post-mortem will be conducted on Tuesday,” informed Sinari, while ruling out any foul play in the case. Sub divisional Police Officer Serafin Dias also visited the site. Police Sub Inspector Sagun Sawant is investigating the case under the supervision of Sinari.
