Velim MLA Benjamin Silva accused the former sarpanch Dominic Noronha of bypassing him while undertaking important works. He said, “The Dramapur-Sirlim panchayat is a negative panchayat in the development index. We are six months behind the world, and now we want to set things right.”
Fernandes, who was elected unopposed in May after Noronha resigned, alleged there were major irregularities in the CCTVs procurement. He stated, “There is no panchayat resolution for the CCTVs, no paperwork found in the records, and no paperwork made to the zilla panchayat.”
