Vasco: Damodar Yamnappa Mangalore a 24-year-old driver by profession was found dead in a locked car at Airport road, Shantinagar on Thursday afternoon. The reason behind his death is unknown.
Vasco PI Nilesh Rane said they received a call from PCR from Panjim stating that a person was found locked in a car in a suspicious manner at Shantinagar, Vasco.
After receiving the information, LPSI Pramila Fernandes along with her staff rushed to the spot and noticed that a man was sitting inside the locked car (GA-06-T-4521) in unconcious condition. He was immediately shifted to the Chicalim Sub district hospital but the medical officers on the duty declared him brought dead.
PI Rane further said the police conducted the panchanama of the spot in presence of panch witnesses and thereafter the body was sent to Hospicio hospital, Margao for post-mortem and preservation. Vasco police have registered it as unnatural death.
After conducting inquiry with locals and the brother of the deceased it was found that that the deceased
person’s name was Damodar was resident of Zuarinagar.
As per the statement by deceased brother, no foul play is suspected in Damodar’s death and he might have died due to some illness.
