Drugs worth Rs 1.10 cr destroyed at Kundaim on Drug Destruction Day

PONDA: Drug Destruction Day was observed on July 17, observed at Kundaim Biotic Waste treatment plant in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, where 25 kg seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic worth Rs 1.10 crore were incinerated and disposed off.

The substances were  seized by Goa Police from various parts of Goa & by Anti Narcotic Police Station.

Chief Minister said there should be no drugs available to youth. He said Monday, he especially attended the programme at Kundaim to create awareness on the issue. 

The programme undertaken by NDPS Drug Disposal Committee, Goa under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

Sawant  said youth should say no to drug for a better future for Goa. He appreciated police department and anti-narcotic cell for taking the initiative. He said various measures are adopted to prevent spread of drugs and those drugs which were seized are destroyed. He said throughout the year various programmes on drug awareness are organised including in schools and colleges. The DGP Jaspal Singh and various officials of Anti Narcotic and police Department were present.
