PORVORIM: Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza on Saturday inaugurated the Herald Auto Expo organized HeraldGroup opposite Bodgeshwar temple at Mapusa in the presence of President of GADA Prashant Joshi.
Speaking on this occasion, D’Souza congratulated HeraldGroup for organizing the Auto Expo in Mapusa and stated that the best part of such expos is that the prospective buyer gets an opportunity to have a look at all the vehicles under one roof, compare the products and then take an appropriate decision. Such type of Auto Expos should be organized at regular intervals at the major towns of Goa, he said.
Joshi stated that presently there is stiff competition in the four-wheeler and two-wheeler market as too many players have entered the arena.
The automobile dealers do not get the volume of sales as required due to limited area of operation as also due to small population. Further, the closure of mining activities has resulted in a drop in sales of automobile dealers by 40% initially. Now since the automobile companies have introduced new variants or products in the market the sales have started picking up, Joshi said.
