Electronic items stolen from chapel

Electronic items worth around Rs 15,000 were stolen from Our Lady of Rosary Chapel, Verla-Canca, Parra, late Wednesday evening.
In a compliant filed with Mapusa police, St Anne Church, Parra, Parish Priest Fr Roland Carvalho, who looks after the chapel, stated that late Wednesday evening, some locals informed him that the side door of the chapel was found open.
Upon receipt of the complaint, Mapusa police PI Rajesh Kumar and PSI Brendan D’Souza along with Fr Carvalho rushed to the site and found table fan, two pairs of candle stands, an amplifier and a mike, all worth around Rs 15,000 stolen from the chapel.
Chapel committee members were also present when police carried out the inspection. No religious articles or statues were touched by the miscreants.
Police pressed the dog squad and finger print expert into service, but could not get any clue. Mapusa police have registered a complaint of theft against unknown persons and PSI Brendan D’Souza in investigating the case.
