Entry tax on vehicles from neighbouring districts

PANJIM: According to amendment to the entry tax notification, commercial vehicles from neighbouring districts of Sawantwadi, Belgaum and Karwar which were earlier exempted from paying entry fees will be charged like other vehicles.

However, considering that these vehicles are largely involved in supplying essential commodities to Goa, provisions for relief through monthly and quarterly passes have been made.

Speaking to Herald, PWD engineer Uttam Parsekar, said that anybody opting for the monthly pass will get 50 per cent relaxation on the fees and quarterly pass holder will get 60 per cent relaxation on entry tax.
