Fake notes worth Rs 1 lakh found

Four persons have been arrested for allegedly possessing fake notes of Rs 1,000 denomination, worth Rs 1.1 lakh, at Ponda on Wednesday night.
Ponda police has provided the names of the accused as Shivanand Dupal (26), Vijay Kailash Ayal (33), Sayyed Bastgirsaab Koopal (32) and Fairoz Qadar Saab Bijapur (25), all from Karnataka.
According to Ponda police, the accused were first arrested for creating nuisance at a bar and restaurant at Curti-Ponda. On interrogation, police found 101 fake notes of Rs 1,000 denomination with the accused.
PSI Nikhil Palyekar and PSI Sanjay Dalvi are investigating the case under the supervision of PI C L Patil.
