Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Wednesday carried out an inspection of the walking track at Fatorda, which has been developed at a cost of ₹1.35 crore, and reviewed the condition of sports infrastructure in the area.
During the visit, Sardesai also examined the maintenance of the cricket pitch and other sports facilities, directing officials to ensure their proper upkeep. He stressed the importance of regular maintenance of gym equipment and announced that the gym facility will be permitted to function till 11 am in the morning for the convenience of local residents.
The MLA further drew attention to a long-pending issue concerning six Scheduled Tribe (ST) families who had given their land for the construction of the ground but are yet to receive sanad (land title) from the government.
Sardesai urged the concerned authorities to resolve the matter at the earliest and ensure justice to the affected families, stating that their legitimate rights must be safeguarded.
The inspection forms part of ongoing efforts to improve public amenities in Fatorda and address outstanding issues related to community welfare and infrastructure.
