FC Goa head coach Manolo Marquez has stressed the importance of discipline, focus and professionalism as his side prepares for a challenging phase of the season.
Marquez pointed out that, unlike previous competitions where matches were scheduled every three or four days, the current calendar allows the team to play roughly one match per week. He said this gives players sufficient time to train, recover and maintain optimal fitness levels.
Reflecting on the pre-season period, the FC Goa coach noted that the squad benefited from adequate rest, sometimes enjoying nearly a week between sessions, which helped keep the players in good physical condition.
However, Marquez acknowledged that the upcoming fixtures will be tough, including crucial matches against Al Nassr.
“The good thing is that we now have normal time to train and recover. The team must stay focused and disciplined. Every competition is different, and we need to be ready and professional throughout the season,” Marquez said.
He added that consistency and thorough preparation will be key as FC Goa looks ahead to the next phase of its campaign.
