Sanguem former MLA Subhash Phal Dessai was also present.

In their memorandum, the workers stated that they are paid based on the production and the irregular supply of material has affected them dearly.

Workers further complained that at times the centre is not provided with raw material for two-three months.

Phal Dessai said the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has directed the Director of Handicrafts Corporation to look into the modalities that could be worked out for regular payment to the workers of the Handloom Centre and also devise the minimum wages payment system as these workers have put in more than 20 years of service at the Centre.
