BICHOLIM: Alert residents under the banner ‘Bicholkars’ have submitted a memorandum demanding that regular checks of fruits sold in the market be conducted by FDA.
‘Bicholkars’ have highlighted that there are some fruit sellers who ripen the fruit artificially with the help of chemicals.
“We have observed that the fruits sold by migrant vendors in open area are mostly unhygienic. Nowadays many people in Goa are facing health problems and unhygienic food is the major problem behind this,” the memo reads.
They have stated that the people are at risk. Thus they have asked the municipal chief officer to conduct raid through FDA in the market.
