During the protest, Desai confronted Assistant Engineer Guno Gaude over what he described as growing public dissatisfaction with rising electricity tariffs, high power bills, penalties imposed on consumers and other billing-related grievances.

Desai alleged that the government was placing an increasing financial burden on small and domestic electricity consumers while extending benefits to industrial establishments. He urged the authorities to adopt a more consumer-friendly approach and provide relief to households affected by rising electricity costs.

The Goa Forward leader further claimed that Assistant Engineer Guno Gaude failed to provide satisfactory answers to the questions raised regarding the tariff hike, electricity billing and the imposition of penalties.

Calling for greater transparency and accountability, Desai demanded that the Electricity Department clearly explain the reasons behind the increased charges and take immediate steps to address the concerns of consumers instead of adding to their financial burden.
