Goa Univ cancels GU-CLAT 2023 for BA LLB course

New merit list will be prepared in both the law colleges

PANJIM: The Goa University on Friday announced cancelation of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), scheduled on August 6 and that the new merit list will be prepared of candidates for BA LLB in both the law colleges. 

 The University said that the new merit list will be prepared using the score of the earlier conducted entrance exam but with changed criteria.

 “In view of the communication received from the Secretary, Education, Government of Goa, the University has decided to cancel the conduct of GU-CLAT 2023 scheduled on 6th August 2023,” the University said. 

The varsity said that the Directorate of Higher Education with the assistance of VM Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar, and G R College of Law, Margao, will complete the admission process for the BA LLB programme for the academic year 2023-24.

GU had initiated a probe against alleged rigging of admission by Kare Law College Principal and found him guilty. Following this GU had announced that a retest will be held on August 6.  Students had moved the High Court against the decision of the University.
