PANJIM: A candidate at the recently held elections of Goa Urban Cooperative Bank has decided to approach the Cooperative Tribunal and High Court following denial of recounting of votes by the returning officer.
Speaking to Herald, John Martins D’Costa, who was on Dr Anil Gaunekar’s panel, said he was defeated by just 29 votes whereas he has secured 2507 votes.
“I suspected some deliberate mistake in the counting and had asked for recounting with a formal application. It was denied within five minutes by the counting officers in charge,” he said.
