PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa, amended its earlier order to allow the vessel Lucky 7, owned Golden Globe Hotels Pvt Ltd, to move Cochin, Dubai or any other suitable port for repairs.
The Court on October 17 had permitted Lucky 7 to travel to Dubai for repairs instead of Jaigad. However, the casino promoters sought a modification of the order to have the liberty to carry out repairs at any suitable port as per the vessel’s requirements. The Court on Tuesday modified the order.
Lucky 7 – to be renamed as Big Daddy – had grounded off Miramar beach in July after it hit the sand bar while travelling to River Mandovi.
It remained stranded for over two months, during which the High Court took serious cognizance of the issue asking the firm to remove the vessel at the earliest. The court continues to monitor the case.
