PANJIM: The third edition of the Herald Auto Expo was inaugurated on Friday by Prashant Joshi, President of Goa Automobile Dealers Association. The Campal Parade ground was packed with enthusiastic visitors as they milled around the various stalls to gawk at the latest models but to also entertain the possibility of buying a car. Brands as diverse as Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Renault as well as Indian brands like Mahindra’s are present at the auto expo.
This expo could not have come at a more opportune time for the auto industry. With the elections underway and a wave of optimism spreading around the country and the Supreme Court having lifted the ban on mining in the State, industry players will hope for a rise in the numbers. A perceptible drop in sales was experienced by all the players in the Goan market. The auto expo has over a period of three years become an important point on the local automobile market.
