The Goa Assembly on Tuesday congratulated Dr Sidney Pinto do Rosario and Raghuvir Dessai for being awarded Silver Elephant awards from President of India for their contribution for Bharat Scouts and Guide.
Members spoke highly about the contribution of Dr Pinto do Rosario and Desai for promoting Scouts and Guides movement in the State.
Home Minister Ravi Naik, PWD Minister Churchill Alemao applauded Dessai and Pinto for their active participation in scouts and guide.
Joining them, the Chief Minister Digambar Kamat also said that he has always seen them taking active part for functions of Scouts and Guides over the years in the State. Even Dr Wilfred de Souza was closely associated with scouts and guides movement, he added.
PARSEKAR: The House also passed a motion congratulating Mandren MLA Laxmikant Parsekar for being elected as the State President of BJP.
After moving the congratulatory motion, the Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar mentioned that he was chief minister of the State while Parsekar was State President way back in 2000.

Mahadev Naik spoke on congragulatory motion. The Chief Minister Digambar Kamat too, congratulated Parsekar for his new role.
The Speaker Pratapsing Rane congratulated Parsekar wishing him all the best in his endeavour of strengthening BJP in Goa. He also offered the new BJP President a piece of advice urging him to ensure that only righteous candidates are given tickets.
