PANJIM: Almost a year after resigning from Congress to join ruling BJP, Shiroda MLA Subhash Shirodkar was rewarded with the chairmanship of Goa Housing Board.
Shirodkar, along with Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte, had joined BJP in October 2018. During the by-elections held in May, 2019 both got re-elected on the saffron party ticket.
In a notification issued on Thursday, Additional Secretary Michael D’Souza said that government has re-constituted Goa Housing Board with Shirodkar as its chairman. The managing director of Housing Board is the member secretary.
There are total seven members on the board that include Narayan Kamat from Shiroda, Shekhar Khadapkar from Dabolim, Sudesh Bhosle from Vasco, Pravin Kukalekar of Old Goa and Madhu Parab of Pernem.
Finance Secretary and Secretary Housing are also members.
