VASCO: Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Commander, Western Seaboard, Additional Director General KR Suresh, PTM, TM, visited the State, recently.
During his visit, the Flag Officer held significant meetings with Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the Director General of Police (DGP) Jaspal Singh, IPS.

The primary focus of the discussions revolved around enhancing cooperation in maritime security, search and rescue operations, and fostering synergy between the ICG and the State. The meetings also explored ways to strengthen training programmes, cross deployments, intelligence sharing and joint exercises.
Additional Director General KR Suresh expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration opportunities between the ICG and the local authorities. He emphasised the significance of maximising collective efforts to ensure the safety and security of Goa’s maritime domain.
He said that the visit further solidified the commitment of the Indian Coast Guard and the State to work hand-in-hand to protect and safeguard country’s coastal areas. The discussions and exchange of ideas will serve as a foundation for future joint initiatives and partnerships, he added.
The Indian Coast Guard remains dedicated to its mission of safeguarding the maritime interests of the nation. The collaboration with the State government will greatly contribute to ensuring the security of Goa’s coastal regions and promoting cooperative efforts towards maritime safety and protection, it was stated.
