IndiGo has begun full compliance with the revised Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) norms from February 11, following the expiry of a temporary exemption granted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The one-time relaxation, issued on December 5, 2025, had allowed the airline additional flexibility to manage large-scale disruptions that affected flight schedules during early December operations.
According to the DGCA, IndiGo has now put in place the required operational, rostering and monitoring systems to align with the Civil Aviation Requirements. During the exemption period, the airline was required to submit hourly flight operations data and periodic performance reports, while regulators maintained close supervision through airport monitoring and operational reviews.

The airline has also strengthened operational preparedness by increasing crew buffers to 3 per cent and improving the pilot-to-aircraft ratio. IndiGo stated that updated crew planning and staffing arrangements are already integrated to ensure stable and compliant operations across its network.
