Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday chaired a crucial review meeting on the health sector in the presence of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, during which key discussions were held on the upgradation of major healthcare facilities across South Goa.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said the meeting focused on the upgradation of the South Goa District Hospital, Canacona Primary Health Centre (PHC), Quepem PHC, and the sub-district hospital, with an emphasis on strengthening infrastructure and improving patient care services.

“The upgradation of South Goa District Hospital, Canacona PHC, Quepem PHC and the sub-district hospital was discussed in detail. A decision has also been taken to increase manpower to ensure better delivery of healthcare services,” Sawant said.
He added that enhancing healthcare infrastructure and human resources remains a top priority for the state government, and the proposed upgrades will help cater to the growing healthcare needs of the people.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane also reiterated the government’s commitment to modernising health facilities and ensuring accessible, affordable and quality healthcare across Goa.
The Chief Minister said further steps will be taken in a phased manner to strengthen the public health system and improve overall service delivery.
