PANJIM: The Income Tax Department raided seven establishments of six firms involved in the business of event management and organising musical events and weddings in the State.
These establishments had allegedly evaded income tax.

The raids started on early Thursday morning at 4 am and lasted till Friday late night. The raid was conducted at the establishment’s offices at Verna, Diwar, Mala and Patto in Panjim, Dona Paula, Caranzalem and Porvorim. The Income Tax Department teams have seized some important documents during the raid.
According to IT sources, the verification of the said documents is going on by the authorities. The Income Tax Department had recently raided a land based casino in Margao and a pharma company in Mapusa.
