Eighteen-year-old Sunny Mathur, a resident of Banastarim-Adkon and native of Jharkhand, who was reported fear drowned on Tuesday in Kodar River, could not be traced despite continuous search operations.
Ponda Fire Station Officer Sushil Morajkar who was personally supervising the rescue operation using rescue boat at Occambi-Kodar bandhara said, “We commenced the search operation on Tuesday to locate the teenager, who was reported fear drowned but we could not trace him.”
It may be recalled that Ponda Police said they received a call that a teenager, went reportedly missing at around 4 pm. It is learnt that six others of the same age had gone on a picnic to the Kodar River. However, one of his friends after bathing in the river noticed Sunny getting drowned, following which the Ponda Police and Fire Personnel were called, who immediately rushed to the spot. However, despite search operation, Sunny could not be traced.
