MARGAO: The donation box of the Khadpaa Khuris at Benaulim was broken and robbed by unknown culprits.
The incident was noticed in the Morning on Monday, where in the metal grill structure surrounding the cross was found cut and opened. It was also noticed that the donation box was broken and money from the box was robbed.
However, according to the custodians of this Cross, there was not much money in the box because as a part of a standard practice they empty the box every evening. No attempt of desecrating or damaging the statue of Our Lady of Valankanni was noticed in the incident.
