PONDA: Bhulesh Potan, 35, resident of Khandola, died in an accident that took place at Tivrem, Marcel, late on Thursday. Ponda police said after buying fish and watermelon at Banastari Bazaar, Potan was riding home to Khandola, when a jeep knocked him down at Tivrem Marcel. Potan suffered serious injuries and was rushed to GMC hospital at Bambolim in an 108 Ambulance. However, Potan succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital. The jeep driver fled after the accident, police said. According to Ponda Police, this is the 13th fatal accident since January, 2017, and fifth in April.
