MARGAO: The drivers of the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) Electric buses withdrew their strike on Saturday following the intervention of the Executive Magistrate.
They have also agreed to meet KTCL Chairman Ulhas Tuenkar to get their grievances addressed. The bus drivers were on strike since Friday demanding hike in salaries and other benefits.
On Friday, commuters using KTCL Electric buses had a tough time after the drivers of the 50 odd buses resorted to flash strike demanding hike in salary fromRs 18,000 to Rs 25,000. KTCL managed to put the buses back on 20 routes later in the day using the other drivers in their employ.
The drivers are employed under Olectra Greentech Limited, the company that supplied the EV buses to the Goa govt. The drivers are also seeking 40 % annual hike as against existing 10 %.
