PERNEM: Pernem Mamlatdar Anant Malik along with Pernem Police during a raid seized a truck, earthmoving machinery and a power tiller involved in illegally mining of laterite at Parsem on Wednesday.
The action follows the raid by the Forest Department which seized wood worth Rs 10 lakh at Parsem recently.

Sources informed that Mamlatdar Malik received a call informing him about the illegal laterite mining at Parsem. A team immediately rushed to the spot and found a truck and power tiller in operation. Mamlatdar seized the vehicles, which were later handed over to the Pernem Police.
