Locker with Rs 8.5 lakh cash stolen

A metal locker containing Rs 8.5 lakh was reportedly stolen from a construction office at Mapusa on Sunday.
In a police complaint with the Mapusa police station, Hazrat Ali Shaikh, proprietor of Hazrat Constructions claimed that some miscreants broke into his office premises at Cosmos Towers, Morod, Mapusa.
The complainant further stated that the miscreants drilled a hole into the toilet after using the emergency staircase of the building and decamped with cash of Rs 8.5 lakh, besides some vital documents.
The police dog squad was pressed into the service, but failed to provide any breakthrough. Police is investigating the case.
