MARGAO: A West Bengal native identified as Balram Sarkar, 49, died due to electrocution while he was working on a six-pole structure of the Electricity Department at Dicarpale.
The incident occurred at 11 am when Sarkar, along with another person, was carrying out electrical work According to PSI Prashant Bhagat, Sarkar, a resident of Cuncolim, came into contact with a live wire, while he was working on the structure along with another labourer.

Despite being rushed to the South Goa District Hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival.
The police have registered a case of unnatural death, and Sarkar’s body has been preserved at the hospital for post-mortem examination.
This incident follows another electrocution tragedy in Cuncolim, where a 60-year-old woman lost her life three days ago in Balli while drying fish on her roof.
