MAPUSA: The Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) on Monday formed various committees at a special council meeting convened on Monday.
This was a first meeting chaired by Shubhangi Vaigankar after taking over as the new chairperson.

The Market Committee led by Councillor Viraj Phadke comprises Ashirwad Khorjuvekar, Sainath Raul, Barbara Carrasco and Kamal D’Souza.
The Environment & Garden Committee headed by Councillor Kishori Korgaonkar consists of Swapnil Shirodkar, Priya Mishal, Vikas Arolkar and Nutan Bicholkar.
The Public Works Committee led by Councillor Ashirwad Khorjuvekar also includes Kayle Braganza, Viraj Phadke, Tarak Arolkar and Anvi Korgaonkar.
The Planning and Development committee headed by Councillor Kyle Braganza comprises Sushant Harmalkar, Priya Mishal and Sudhir Kandolkar.
Lightening committee led by Councillor Vikas Arolkar consists of Kayle Braganza, Kishori Korgaonkar, Barbara Carrasco and Anand Bhaidkar.
The Standing Committee headed by the chairperson includes Chandrashekhar Benkar, Tarak Arolkar, Sushant Harmalkar and Sashank Narvekar.
When asked as to when the municipal market will reopen, the MMC chairperson said the decision will be taken after consulting with the MLA and other officials.
