PANAJI: The German’s have launched a new car on the streets of Goa. Mercedes Benz launched the CLA Class sedan in the State and this is the first of 15 launches scheduled to take place during the course of the year. The petrol variant of the sedan is expected to cost Rs 35 lakh ex-showroom, while the diesel variant will cost Rs 35.90 lakh ex-showroom.
Akash Counto of Counto Motors said, “This launch will change the market dynamics. Such technology at such a price is unbelievable. We have a winner here.”
Asked if the Goan market was ready for such a product in depressed times he said the market had the capacity to absorb such a model with great ease. He admitted that the market was tight but the Goan economy would rebound.
He also expressed confidence in the market being able to absorb the 15 models to be launched this year.
Over 100 units were sold last year and the company would be looking forward to beating that number this year.
