PANJIM: After the Election Commission rap, the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) has finally decided to hold Central Committee elections on January 16, 2021 and the results will be declared on January 17.
MGP president Deepak Dhavalikar while addressing a press conference said nearly 750-800 delegates will exercise their voting rights.

“Holding elections during pandemic was not possible as there are large number of voters (members of party),” he said adding 750-800 delegates will have voting rights.”
Last week former MGP MLA Lavoo Mamledar had moved a no-confidence motion against the president, however, Dhavalikar said that the Constitution of the party does not give any right for moving such a motion.
Earlier, he said the elections were postponed due to Zilla Panchayat elections and also COVID-19 pandemic.
