Mickky should surrender and depose before police: Ravi
HERALD CORRESPONDENT
MARCEL, JUNE 23
Even as Goa Police have failed to locate the missing former tourism minister Micky Pacheco, Home Minister Ravi Naik has stated that Pacheco should come forward and depose before the police in connection with the death of Nadia Torrado.
When asked whether Pacheco should surrender before the police, Naik told Herald that the decision to surrender depends on Pacheco and not on him.
However, the home minister refrained from commenting on the investigation process, when he asked whether he was happy with the ongoing investigations.
“Whatever investigations are going on, they are being looked after by police officers and there are respective police officers as investigation officers,” said Naik.
“Investigations are monitored by the IPS officers and the home department has nothing to do with investigation process. We come into picture only during policy matters and nothing else,” stated Naik.
“I am not saying he should surrender, but it is he who should decide on it. Police are investigating the case but he (Micky) should come forward and depose before the police,” added the home minister.
Naik also refrained to comment on Atala’s bail citing the case was sub-judice.
