VASCO: The Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) on Thursday demolished four illegal structures situated at Fakir Galli-Mangor, here.
Mormugao ward councillor Amey Chopdekar said that these structures were demolished as the land was required for the road widening.

He said that these structures were temporary sheds where people kept their domestic animals and other equipment thereby making it like a storeroom. Sometimes these sheds were used to park vehicles.
Chopdekar said that the occupants did not heed to the warning of the municipality as the land was required for road widening. He said that the people from Fakir Galli were often proceeding through the wrong side and causing accidents before reaching Varunapuri junction.
Chopdekar said that following notices, the occupants removed their belongings and cooperated during the demolition of temporary sheds.
