The bodies, which were later identified as those of Saligao residents Milagrina D’Souza (34) and her seven-year-old son, Adrian, were recovered from the Dona Paula bay after nearly an hour’s search operation.
Panjim police station registered a case of unnatural death. The duo had come to the jetty at about 6 am. A fisherman who was a witness to the incident, immediately informed the police control room.
Milagrina’s husband had also committed suicide by hanging himself in the house the family stayed in at Saligao, in January this year.00
