Mumbai-based co to set up GTPs

PANJIM: The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation has finalized SMC Pvt Ltd, Mumbai-based company for setting up garbage treatment plants at Calangute and Curchorem to deal with solid waste generated in North and South Goa.

PANJIM: The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation has finalized SMC Pvt Ltd, Mumbai-based company for setting up garbage treatment plants at Calangute and Curchorem to deal with solid waste generated in North and South Goa.
The Rs 300-crore project being undertaken by the GSIDC has got the green signal from its Board at a meeting held today to issue the letter of intent to the Mumbai-based agency that will kick-start the process for setting up the two plants in the State.
The Corporation has already identified various processes that would be required   for treatment of solid waste and the selected agency will be entrusted the task  of setting up the two plants according to the specifications. The GSIDC board also gave its approval to various tenders floated  by the corporation, a major  project  includes setting up of grade separators at Dabolim airport.
