MARGAO: Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) lone MLA in Goa Churchill Alemao refused to comment on the developments in Maharashtra pointing out that it was a decision taken by leaders of the party.
He however suggested that the drama is not yet over and advised to “wait and watch” for further developments.
He said that the Maharashtra development would not have any effect on Goa as he had already extended his “outside” support to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant primarily because he hails from the lower class of people.
“When we have a person from the lower class as a chief minister, the government cares and works for the poor people and that is what is happening in Goa right now under the leadership of Dr Pramod Sawant,” Churchill said.
He praised Dr Sawant as a man working to uplift the poor and downtrodden Goans and said the chief minister has sanctioned a lot of developmental works in his constituency of Benaulim.
