PANJIM: Former chairperson of the South Goa Zilla Panchayat (SGZP) Nelly Rodrigues has been appointed as the Administrator of Goa Panchayat Mahila Shakti Abhiyan (GPMSA) by the State Directorate of Panchayats.

Nelly thanked Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho for the appointment.
With the help of Director of Panchayats and Returning Officer Anil Dhumaskar the elections to the vacant posts held by former ZP members were held at the Secretariat, Porvorim and Diksha Kanolkar, Vice Chairperson of North Goa ZP was elected as president of GPMSA. Rodrigues has been elected ZP member four times and was also the president cum administrator of GPMSA for three terms.
She was on deputation to the Mahila Shakti Abhiyan as Administrator for the past 6 years. Due to her vast experience, she was selected for several conferences all over India and in Brussels, Germany, France, South Africa, Nepal and Pakistan.
