“It is learnt that North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) has issued a new notification on Calangute, Candolim ODP wherein they have changed the survey number and claimed that this change is in the interest of public, which is not true since the survey number which is changed belongs to outside hoteliers and businessman including that of local MLA,” claimed Sequeira.

Sequeira highlighted that floor area ratio (FAR) of Survey No 238/21 of Calangute and 41/1, 207/2, 28/17 and 199/9B of Candolim ODP has been increased from 100 to 150. However, none of these belong to the locals.

“Pick and choose is done in these new changes where only outside businesses are benefiting. If it is in the public interest then why not whole stretches from both sides of the road of Baga deck which also include locals are not changed and why pick and choose,” Sequeira said.

Sequeira also pointed out that if this notification is in the interest of the public then is the public consulted before issuing the new changes.
