Goa PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral who inspected the New Zuari Bridge when load testing was being done on Wednesday has said the old bridge and the new bridge will work as one way for vehicles moving between Panjim and Margao. He said the bridge would be open for all vehicles including two-wheelers. The bridge will be opened only after all safety measures are taken and before the end of December 2022.
The old Zuari Bridge will be used for vehicles moving from Panjim to Margao and the new Zuari bridge will be used for vehicles moving from Margao to Panjim, While heavy vehicles will move both ways on the new Zuari bridge. So heavy vehicles will not be allowed on the old Zuari bridge once the new Zuari bridge is opened.
